BIC hosts many Special Rides throughout the year.
The Hot Chocolate Ride often takes place in January or February. This ride is around 10-15 miles as cyclists stop frequently to warm up and fuel up. The prime mission of this ride is to bike and enjoy fresh air with biking friends that you may not have seen through the winter, no matter what Mother Nature throws at you!
BIC's Spring Ride takes place on a weekend in May or early June. Past rides have taken us to historical places around the Iowa - Illinois - Minnesota area. SAG volunteers carry the gear and we stay a night in a hotel.
We host an annual Amana Breakfast Ride, a bike ride through the rolling countryside rewarded with an all-you-can-eat breakfast in Amana. This ride usually takes place on a holiday such as July 4th or Labor Day. Bring your appetite for this one as the food is practically unlimited!
The last full week in July is the annual RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. BIC provides transportation to and from the start and end points, and hauls baggage for members. This is the ride you've probably been training for since April!
Ragbrai 2019 - July 21-27, 2019
BIC hosts the Courage Ride on a Saturday in August. This annual bike-ride through the beautiful countryside of Eastern Iowa is dedicated to improving the lives of people living with cancer. All money raised funds local cancer research at the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Your donation can help find a cure for cancer!
There are multiple route options from 18 - 100 miles, and your registration includes a full breakfast, lunch, and well supported rest stops with live musical entertainment throughout the day. This ride has something for everyone!
