BIC's Bike Shop Hop on Sunday, May 6 will also start at Sugar Bottom Bikes in North Liberty. Meet at 9 am to sign in, get your punch card, and listen to the presentation at 9:10 AM. Spend time in the shop and leave at 9:45 for arrival at Geoff's Bike and Ski by 10:45 AM. So you can choose whether to start at either Big Grove Brewery or Sugar Bottom Bikes. The first meeting location is the parking lot of Big Grove Brewery, Iowa City at 7:45 AM. We will bike from Big Grove to Sugar Bottom Bikes (North Liberty) and back to Iowa City, stopping at all 3 bike shops. For details and current map, click here. Discard any other maps that you may have printed previously. Your ride host will be Dale Simon. You will be given a punch card at the beginning of the ride at the Big Grove parking lot. Be sure you visit ALL 4 bike shops and have your card marked or punched. At the end of the ride in the Big Grove Parking lot, turn in your card and receive a ticket for a FREE pint of beer provided by Big Grove. Big Grove is planning a special Bike Shop Hop appetizer, for purchase to go with your beer. There will be a drawing at 1 PM for 4 gift certificates ($50 each), one from each bike shop. Again, you must have your card punched by ALL 4 bike shops to be eligible for the gift certificate. You do not need to be in attendance to win a certificate. The 4 bike shops are planning a 15 minute informative presentation on a biking subject including a live demonstration on bike maintenance, bike packing, route/ride planning and bike commuting. Special sales on products and/or services will be available for purchase only on May 6th. You may go back to the bike shops to complete your purchase prior to their closing on Sunday.
