The ride starts on Saturday, May 20th at 9:15 sharp. Meet in the parking lot of the Catholic Church of Isador, 603 6th St., Springville (next to Caseys). Our first rest stop is in Waubeek at F B & Co with a peaceful river view and refreshments. Lunch stop will be at the Prairie Moon Bar and Grill in Prairieburg.(sandwich and salad lunch with tea or lemonade is included in your registration fee. Other beverages are available for purchase). We will stay at the Manchester Days Inn, 1220 W. Marion St., 563-927-1011. We have reserved non-smoking rooms that must be reserved by May 2nd. Mention Bicyclists of Iowa City to receive the rate of single queen bed, $71.55 and double queen bed, $76.60. We will enjoy Happy Hour at Grumpy Bill's, 121 S Franklin St, with heavy appetizers, craft beer, and wine, which is also included in your registration fee. You'll be able to see the Manchester White Water Park from Gumpy's deck. This is a man-made white water run for kayaks, canoes, tubes, and fishing along the river, with 6 major water features offering paddling options for multiple skill levels. There is a paved bike/walkway along the river if you'd like to see the features, or check out the sights, visit their website at www.manchesterwhitewater.com. Saturday evening dinner will be on your own. Sunday breakfast is included with your hotel stay. The ride will start promptly at 8:30 and will travel through Delaware, Hopkington, Anamosa, Stone City, and back to Springville. Lunch is on your own in Anamosa or Stone City. The last rest stop is at the General Store in Stone City where you can see a Grant Wood painting, enjoy beverages and/or a full meal, and also join in at the open mic for entertainment. Bring your lights if you want to stay awhile! This is a supported ride with fully stocked rest stops supplying water and snacks. Please pack one soft sided duffle bag which will be transported to the Days Inn. There is a $30.00 per person fee to cover food and drinks. Maps and final details will be sent to those who register for the T.G.I.S. BIC ride.
